What we collect, why, who else sees it, and what you can ask us to do about it.
01 In short
- We collect what is needed to sell you a licence, let you activate it, and answer your questions. Nothing else.
- We never see your full card details. Payments are handled by our payment providers.
- Activating a licence records an identifier derived from your computer. It is used to count and release seats, and for nothing else.
- The support chat runs on our own server. Your conversation is not sent to an external AI provider.
- We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for advertising.

03 What we collect
Account and order data
Your name, email address, billing details and the licences you own. You give us this when you create an account or place an order.
Payment data
We record that an order was paid, the amount and the currency. Card numbers and equivalent payment credentials are entered with our payment provider and never reach our servers.
Licence activation data
When you activate a licence, start a trial or release a seat, our licensing service records the licence code, your email address, an identifier derived from the computer, the product, the time, and the IP address the request came from.
The machine identifier is a value derived from the computer's hardware. It is not a serial number we can read anything else from, it does not identify you personally on its own, and we use it only to count seats, recognise a machine you have already activated, and let you free one up.
Support conversations
What you write in the chat or send by email, so we can answer it and so a later question has the earlier context. The chat is answered by software running on our own server; the conversation is not sent to a third-party AI provider.
Technical data
Ordinary server logs — IP address, browser, pages requested, timestamps — kept to operate the site securely and to investigate faults and abuse.
04 Why we use it
| Purpose | Legal basis |
|---|---|
| Selling you a licence and delivering it | Performance of our contract with you |
| Activating licences and managing seats | Performance of our contract with you |
| Answering support requests | Performance of our contract, and our legitimate interest in supporting our products |
| Preventing licence abuse and fraud | Our legitimate interest in protecting our products and customers |
| Keeping accounting and tax records | Compliance with a legal obligation |
| Product news, when you have asked for it | Your consent, withdrawable at any time |
05 Who we share it with
We do not sell personal data and we do not share it for advertising. We do use service providers to run the business, and they process data only on our instructions:
- Payment providers, to take payment and handle refunds and chargebacks.
- Our hosting provider, which operates the servers this site and the licensing service run on.
- Our email provider, to deliver order confirmations, licence codes and replies.
We may also disclose data where the law requires it, or to establish or defend a legal claim.
06 International transfers
Some of these providers operate outside the country where you live, so your data may be processed abroad. Where that happens we rely on the safeguards the applicable law provides for such transfers, such as standard contractual clauses.
07 How long we keep it
- Order and accounting records: for as long as tax and company law requires us to keep them.
- Account and licence records: for as long as you hold a licence, because a perpetual licence has to remain activatable.
- Activation records: for as long as the licence exists, so seats can be counted and released.
- Support conversations: kept while they are useful for supporting you, then deleted.
- Server logs: kept for a short period for security and fault investigation.
08 Your rights
Depending on where you live, you have some or all of the following rights over your personal data:
- Ask what we hold about you, and get a copy of it.
- Have inaccurate data corrected.
- Ask us to delete data we no longer need.
- Ask us to restrict processing, or object to it where we rely on legitimate interests.
- Receive your data in a portable format.
- Withdraw consent at any time, where we relied on it.
- Complain to your data protection authority.
Deleting your account data ends the licences attached to it, because a licence cannot be activated without the account it belongs to. We will say so clearly before acting on such a request.
Much of this you can do yourself in your account. For anything else, write to support@modoudsp.com.
09 Cookies
This site uses cookies that are necessary for it to work: keeping you signed in, remembering your cart, and remembering the language and currency you chose. Turning these off would stop the store functioning.
You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings. If you do, you may have to sign in again and reselect your currency.
10 Security
The site and the licensing service are served over encrypted connections, access to customer data is limited to people who need it to do their work, and passwords are stored hashed rather than in a readable form.
No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your personal data and the law requires it, we will notify you and the relevant authority.
11 Children
These products are sold to adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will remove it.
12 Changes to this notice
We update this notice when what we do with data changes. The current version is always on this page, with its effective date at the top. If a change materially affects you, we will say so rather than relying on you noticing.
