Placing sound in a space, in mono and stereo
Reverb is where you stand.

What It Does
modouVerb Standard renders the room from its geometry. Pick one of eight spaces, put the source and the microphone where they belong, and set the distance between them in metres. Early reflections are traced through the room for that exact placement, and a high-density late field fills the rest. Move the singer, raise the mic or turn it away, and the sound changes the way it would in the room.
Why one is enough
To place a sound you have to answer three questions: what room, where in it, and heard how. Standard answers all three continuously instead of offering a list of fixed choices. What room: eight spaces, from a treated studio and an echo chamber to a concert hall, a 5.6-second Gothic church, a cave, a 140-metre tunnel, a warehouse and a steel plate. Each has its own geometry, its own materials and its own decay. Where in it: any distance, any position on the floor and any height. Every move is re-traced, so there is always one more seat, not one more preset. Heard how: omni, cardioid or figure-8, as a mono capsule or an AB, XY or Blumlein pair, turned through 360°. DECAY, TONE, DENSITY and late-field DYNAMICS shape the room without breaking it. On a send, 100% WET puts one hall behind a whole mix. At about 1–2.5 % of a core per instance, you can give every track its own seat in the same room. That is depth staging from one reverb.
